FAQs
Before you brief the firm.
Practical answers to the questions clients ask most often before a first consultation.
Does submitting a form create a lawyer–client relationship?
No. Sending an inquiry, email or form does not create a lawyer–client relationship. A formal relationship arises only when the firm and the client execute an engagement agreement or retainer and the firm accepts instructions. Until then, please avoid sending privileged or time-sensitive information.
Is the initial consultation confidential?
Yes. Initial consultations are conducted in confidence under the firm’s professional rules. Any information shared during the consultation is treated with the discretion expected of senior commercial counsel.
How quickly does the firm respond to inquiries?
Standard response time for new inquiries is one business day. For urgent or time-critical matters — interim relief, enforcement, regulatory deadlines — call the firm directly using the office line.
Does the firm accept matters outside Abuja?
Yes. The firm represents clients before federal and state courts and tribunals across Nigeria, and coordinates counsel for international and cross-border matters. Travel and venue arrangements are agreed at intake.
What information should I bring to a first consultation?
An outline of the matter, the key dates, copies of any contracts, correspondence or pleadings, and the commercial outcome you are aiming for. A high-level summary is enough — the firm will identify any further documents required.
How are fees structured?
Most engagements are quoted on a scoped or hourly basis, with monthly retainers available for standing commercial counsel and success-aligned arrangements available for defined recovery and enforcement mandates. Fees and timelines are confirmed in writing before work commences.
Can the firm assist foreign investors and diplomatic missions?
Yes. The firm has a dedicated practice for foreign direct investment, cross-border representation, and diplomatic and consular legal matters. Entry advisory, regulatory representation and dispute management are all available under a single engagement structure.
